It was love at first sight. A piece of art in a gown. Classic but modern, elegant yet not dull, simultaneousLy fun and romantic. A high-end designer dress that's not over the top; high quality material with sturdy boning in the bodice and a layered horse-hair skirt that's still easy to move in. I loved how my dress bounced when I walked and danced, full of life.

Were I not moving across the country, I would have loved to keep it just to admire it from time to time. But a dress like this is meant to be worn and to delight. I hope to find another lady who appreciates this dress, and for it to make her feel as gorgeous as I did on her big day. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions; if you really love the dress, I'm willing to give a discount!

ABOUT THE DESIGNER - YUMI KATSURA COUTURE:

Yumi Katsura is a bridal fashion designer born in Tokyo, Japan and is known as one of the world’s most prolific designers. Her wedding dresses are considered modern masterpieces.

She graduated from Kyoritsu Women’s University in Apparel Science Studies, and studied techniques of haute couture in Paris. In 1964, she launched a line of dresses in a wide range of fabrics—from silks to laces—and became known for using innovative fashion techniques. As a result, she was a leading choice in Japanese bridal fashion.

Yumi started her business during a time when Japanese wedding design began to incorporate Western influence, yet she never failed to promote the compatibility of the East and West in wedding ceremonies. It was through her efforts of looking at Japanese bridal history, and creating high-quality dresses that appealed to Japanese women with simple, stylish designs that led Katsura to the top of the ready-made wedding fashion world.

Today, her dresses still have touches of detail that resemble traditional Japanese aesthetics in a contemporary world. The brand has one, directly-managed shop in Paris and a showroom in New York City.
